Edvotek PCR Amplification of DNA Experiment Kit

In this easy PCR experiment, students will make billions of copies of a small amount of DNA in just 90 minutes! They will just need to mix template DNA and primers with PCR beads that contain all of the other components required to carry out a PCR reaction. Students will see the increasing amounts of DNA for themselves, taking samples every few cycles and analysing them on a DNA gel.

• Group size: for 10 lab groups
• Time required: PCR setup 10 minutes; PCR 90 minutes; electrophoresis 30 minutes; staining 5 minutes to overnight
• Kit includes: instructions, PCR EdvoBeads™, LyphoPrimer™ mix, DNA standard marker, ultra-pure water, LyphoTemplate™, TE buffer, UltraSpec-Agarose™, 50X electrophoresis buffer, FlashBlue™ stain, SYBR® Safe DNA stain, microcentrifuge, and PCR tubes
