These evidence bags are tamper evident. Not only do they preserve the integrity of the evidence but they also protect the officers from accusations of tampering. If a bag is opened for examination it should then be re-bagged with the the old bag to preserve the chain of evidence. Methods of attack are signalled by the appearance of a hidden STOP message.
