Macmillan Coffee Morning 2014

Well done to all who contributed to the Macmillan Coffee Morning held at the Nottingham offices on Friday 26th September. A great effort was put in by all of 
the staff who brought along some fantastic home-made treats. 

A total of £203 was raised on the day by SLS for Macmillan Cancer Support 
- a very worthy cause! Thank you to everyone who was involved.

Summer Exhibitions – Bristol/York ASE 2014

SLS Select Education attended the ASE National Technicians Conference in York (3rd –4th July) and the Avon Sci Tech 20th Annual Meeting in Bristol (4th July) - both proving to be a great success. Armed with our latest catalogues we were able to demonstrate the wide variety of products on offer as well as getting the opportunity to meet everyone that came along to visit us on the stands. 

We look forward to seeing you all again next year!

SLS Laboratory Show 2014 – A Great Success!

Thank you to everyone that attended the SLS Laboratory Show 2014 at the East Midlands Conference Centre on Wednesday 14th May. The show was attended by over 700 technicians and scientists from 17 countries making this year’s show the biggest and best to date. With support from the Royal Society of Chemistry and all of the leading manufacturers that were present including Pyrex, Motic, Kern, Ohaus, Adam Equipment, Simax, Grant, Eppendorf & Azlon we were able to ensure that the event was a huge success. 

We would also like to state that we thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone that came to see us on the SLS Select Education stand and we are very much looking forward to seeing you all again at the SLS Laboratory Show 2016!

Free Delivery for School Customers!

The one thing that you we always hear when we ask how we can improve our service to schools is that free delivery is very important to you. We are delighted to announce that with immediate effect we are scrapping our standard delivery charge for members of our Select Savers loyalty scheme. This is open and free to join for any of our school or college customers. If you have never ordered with us before you can sign up and reap the benefits right from your first order.

In addition to free delivery Select Saver members also accrue an additional 2% discount that is paid in the form of a credit on your account at the end of the school year on all purchases with SLS Select Education during that year – the more you spend the greater the credit. 

Free delivery is applicable on standard stock orders of any value for schools within the UK mainland (sadly this excludes the Highlands and Islands regions). Delivery surcharges are still applicable on hazardous ‘ADR’ chemicals (although standard chemicals are free) as well as some direct delivery furniture – these items are clearly marked in the catalogue.

SLS Select Education joins BESA

The UKs largest independent supplier of scientific products has become a member of BESA, the trade association for Education Suppliers. This arrangement will allow us to further improve our reach through BESA’s excellent contacts and relationships with UK and international government’s. SLS Select Education has become a BESA member by submitting and fulfilling their rigorous membership criteria and code of practice. We believe schools deserve peace of mind when they buy products from BESA members.
